About Me

Czech glass "moonbead" ca1900AD

Born 1/25/52 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  I attended Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, and was selected for the 1968 NC Governor's School in music(viola). I earned my BS at Wake Forest in 1975, and MA at UNC-CH in 1982. I've been a professional social worker, professional athletic trainer, violinist, pianist, paramedic, cook, jeweler,  flower child, poet, pacifist, activist, hotel manager, part-time salesman, full-time know-it-all, adjunct professor, clinic manager, systems analyst, online auctioneer, national award-winner, total loser, website editor, chemicals expert, high-school teacher, and census taker. All which helped prepare me for the hardest job of all--caregiver. I did the best I could Mom. I hope that someday you will look down upon me from the heavens...and smile.

"Tho much is taken, much abides; and tho' we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."

Conclusion to "Ulysses," by Alfred Lord Tennyson.
